Formed in Liverpool in 1985, The Revolutionary Army of the Infant Jesus is a unique, experimental art house ensemble whose work goes beyond music.
Not so much a band as a creative collective, their immersive, often situationist multi-media performances and innovative recordings combine layers of imagery, elements of ritual, chants, obscure samples, field recordings and beautiful melodies to generate emotionally intense soundscapes. RAIJ continue to practice an eclectic and post-modern creative method which they describe as an act of restoration: the pursuit of a deeper truth and an elusive beauty. Their ambient, meditative and sometimes unsettling pieces have been compared to artists as diverse as Scott Walker, The Velvet Underground and minimalist composers Arvo Part and John Taverner.
RAIJ continue to enjoy a certain reclusive status.

“We live in a world where we are being sold things every hour of every day, but the things we truly value are not the things we are sold, but the things we discover. To that end we are content to be discovered.”
